Jamaica and the World

I have always wondered about the influence of Jamaica-Caribbean music in the work of the Washington DC based Dj and Producing Duo Theivery Corporation. It makes me wonder how possible it is for us take music like danchall and give it a Dance/Hip Hop/House /Soul flavour…..What elements of our music incorporate other genres outside of R+B and Hip Hop?
